Ian Walton
Line Dance and Country Music Singer
Biography
Ian comes from a musical family, his dad was a professional baritone singer. Ian started to learn to play guitar at an early age inspired by his grandfather and he has continued to play all his life.
In his teens he played in a band with a group of friends, they still meet up now, when they can, just for fun.
He began playing on the country music and line dance scene in 2004 being introduced to it by his friend Pete Stothard when he formed Texas Tornados.
In 2008, having known Glenn Rogers for a couple of years he joined his band 4 Card Trick. Glenn was instrumental in Ian beginning to sing in 2012, this was a lifetime's ambition of Ian's and Glenn supported him on this journey.
In 2013 Ian joined Nikky Napier in Calico, after being introduced by Glenn. He was with Calico for 3 and a half years, during this time his confidence grew and he has taken the experience gained to move ahead with his solo career.
In 2017 Ian had a few solo gigs but also had a full time job to contend with. Just before the pandemic hit Ian changed his work to being self employed, working part time, to concentrate on his music, bad timing, although lucky enough to work through the pandemic he had plenty of time to rehearse. As soon as restrictions allowed in 2021 he began relaunching his solo career.
He now has many clubs he is regularly booked at and loves nothing more then performing at events and meeting people, many of which have become friends.
